[Clinical Picture] 99mTc-HDP bone scintigraphy confirming parathyroid hormone-related peptide paraneoplastic syndrome in metastatic breast cancer

In November, 2020, a 74-year-old woman presented at University Medical Center Utrecht (Utrecht, Netherlands) and was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer (oestrogen receptor-positive, HER2-negative disease, with lymph node and hepatic metastases). Her primary breast cancer had been diagnosed 5 years previously in October, 2015, and she had received treatment with neoadjuvant chemotherapy (three cycles of fluorouracil, epirubicin, and cyclophosphamide, and three cycles of docetaxel), mastectomy, and axillary node dissection (stage ypT3N2M0) in 2015–16, followed by adjuvant anti-hormonal therapy with tamoxifen and anastrozole.
